Stumble Back Into Your Youth And Relive Those Good Old Days

Dads, do you remember how good life was back in the day? Free from all these smartphones, modern shouty music and iwhatevers. Let's be honest. You never had it so good. Well maybe we should think about bringing it all back. Is that a good idea? Let’s see what we can do.

What were the things you used to do in your freetime? There was no Netflix then. No Angry Birds or Game of Thrones. What was there to do? Well how about your old scalextric set? Whatever happened to that. You used to spend hours of uninterrupted fun racing your special cars around those tracks. And where is it now? Clogged with dust in the loft no doubt. Get it down, blow it all off and get racing again. Teach your kids how fun it can be. They’ve got the same genes as you remember so they’re bound to love it. How about your old remote controlled car that you used to race around Granny’s bungalow? You were just too cool for tea and cakes back then. You were Nigel Mansell. You were Damon Hill. You were free from all these mounting bills, the mortgage problems and daily office stresses. Well how about getting a new remote controlled car and racing it around the fields over the road with the whole family. Make it a proper day out. Or go one step further and sign yourself up to a drone or helicopter. Ensure however that you do your pre research before you shell out your hard earned money, through sites such as RotorCopters.

Do you remember those camping holidays you used to go on when you were young? What did you most look forward to before you snuggled up into your sleeping bag each night? Not the scalextric or the remote controlled car. My, they were fun but you used to love a game of cards didn’t you? Of course you did. Those rummy tournaments you organised and set up. That final with Granny when she cheated with that 7 of clubs. Those memories were the best. So why not do the same with your kids. Keep them away from that portable TV you secretly hate, teach them how to play with your utmost patience and sit down to a thrilling game or two. Plus who knows, they may even ask you to play again another time., Don't forget about the wonderful school trips you used to go on, either. While a trip to the local beach seemed like a dream back in the day, we can't help but feel a little jealous of the current students heading off to slightly more exotic locations. Another thing: How good was music back in the day? You had The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Elvis. Now who is there? Justin Bieber. The world weeps. Well how about reliving those classics by bringing your old vinyls and record player from that cupboard of clutter you never cleaned out. You and your wife can get up and dancing again like it’s the 70’s and who knows, pass this musical magic to your children and you might have a future musician in the house. Paul McCartney eat your heart out. Train them up well Dad.
