The sound of my children in the house is like listening to the most beautiful song! Its my honor and privilege to live it 24 hours per day and I cannot imagaine a time without it enriching my heart and soul 💓💓💓
WORKING DADS GUILT: via a combination of accident and design I only suffered this once; when my first child was born. I took 2 weeks off and then I went back to work. Within a week or so of going back to work my law practice the post-partum blues (yes, dads get them as well) hit me hard – so badly in fact that my wife and I decided that we had to change our lives so we could always be together with our children (what I call my ’Fatherhood Biz”). 23 years and 6 more children later, through good times and extremely challenging times, I never have had to endure that separation guilt and angst again. Among my network of working dads, I see them express their angst at not being present for their children through no fault of their own. My heart goes out to all dads who go through this scarcely acknowledged hardship every day. I hope that you find a way to build work/life balance the way I have so you can stay present in the lives of your kids, whatever age they are. This weekend I also hope that you're able to focus on the quality of your time with your children and appreciate every precious minute. What are you thinking? Did you know that we have about 70,000 conscious and unconscious thoughts a day?😧 ! It goes without saying that your words and thoughts can and do dictate how you feel at any given moment: happy, sad, inspired, stressed - you get my point? Our Thoughts And Words Can Elevate Us Or Weaken Us... Our words, and the energy backing up those words, affect how we feel. So it’s important that we become mindful of the words we use. Because as we repeat the words, we create momentum around the energy they carry. Instead I resolved to from then on take action, but from a place of inspiration, not a place of control., When a wave of negativity, stress and frustration😧 came over me this week I resolved to reframe these thoughts and words so they made me, and therefore my family, feel empowered, inspired and joyful around me. Don't be afraid to be imperfect - translate as many of those 70,000 thoughts into words that you believe in, and will lift you and those around you. The change is not instant, but with practice it becomes a healthy way of life for you and those you love. Try it and see! 🧬🧬🧬
Every man needs a reason for being – so here I am, with mine 🥰 @thelouisemckenzie, you give me purpose, love, determination and your counsel - whilst never putting yourself first💕 …something I have to literally force you to do! You are the whole package of what a wife, mother, friend and business partner should be, and the best thing I ever did in my life was to find you and marry you 💘💘💘 . I would never have been a husband a father without you being in my life, and I can’t imagine what a day apart from you would feel like, and I would never want to, so thank you putting up with me being at your side every minute 24/7/365 for more than two decades 🕰️ Finally, I can’t wait for the new adventures in our life together, with our beautiful talented children and in our businesses – the best is yet to come, I am truly so excited. “Love” is an insufficient word for all I feel for you, you are my heart and soul 🥰
Seeing this little boy everytime I use my phone just makes my day, 😀and being a such busy #dad my happiest job 👨‍👩‍👦‍👦 . 💝 Appreciate the small things everyday!!!
