4 Activity Ideas For Father's Day

Father's Day is the one time of the year when dads get to feel extra special.  It's their opportunity to celebrate, and also our opportunity to celebrate them. Whether it's a grandfather, a godfather, or a stepfather, there are many different types of fathers we can celebrate on this big day.

However, why not try something unique this year to celebrate this special day? Rather than a card or a coffee cup, why not do an activity that creates a memorable experience that you'll both treasure forever?

Celebrate Multi Generations

Why not get your family together and celebrate multiple generations of fathers? You could visit the assisted living facility where grandpa lives, or even great grandpa. Call up great uncles and anyone else who makes a part of your fatherly family tree. This can be a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with members of your family that you haven't seen in a while, and also show the younger family members the importance of knowing where they came from.

Outdoor Adventures

What says Father's Day more than going outside and embracing nature? Many dads have an adventurous side and love going into the great outdoors. You could go for a hike, or even visit a National Park. Do you have a bike? Why not bike along a trail? Whatever you choose to do outdoors, spending time together in nature is a wonderful way to bond and create lasting memories with the father in your life. While you're at it, pack a picnic with all of your favorite snacks!

Have a Barbecue

One of the best parts about Father's Day is that it falls during the sunny season. What better time of year to have a BBQ than in summertime? Many dads love firing up the grill and having a full-fledged outdoor BBQ. The best part about barbecues is that they can be enjoyed with all of your favorite people.

Sizzle up some steaks, fry up some juicy burgers, and enjoy eating delicious summer cuisine in the sun. Don't forget to include some delicious beverages, and honor your dad in this classic American setting!

Go to a Sporting Event

If your dad loves sports, then this is the perfect day to go to a sporting event. If there are no sporting events to watch, then maybe you could participate in one yourself. Shoot hoops at the local basketball court, or play a couple of rounds of golf. Do whatever kind of sport or activity that Dad enjoys, and actively participate in it with him.

The more you can get involved with something he appreciates, the more he'll appreciate this gesture.  At the very least, you could even watch sports on TV if that's what he loves to do!
