Last year 44% of millennials planned a family vacation. If it's been a while since you and your family got away, then now's the perfect time to plan a trip. Don't let the decision on where to go prevent you from planning an awesome vacation. To help you get started, we have a few family vacation ideas that are sure to please. So, where will you travel to this year?

1. Orlando, FL

No family vacation list would be complete without a trip to Walt Disney World. Head to Orlando, and there's an entire city to explore.

There's something for everyone from the little ones, to the animal lovers, to the roller coaster junkies. Then for the shopaholic, there are plenty of shopping centers and outlets to explore.

Plan your trip right, and you can swing by a nearby coastal city that is a few hours away to dip your toes in the water. Head east to Daytona for a swim in the Atlantic. Or head west to Clearwater and take a swim in the Gulf at one of the world's most beautiful beaches.

2. Washington DC

Celebrate the history of our nation and really bring it to life for your children by visiting our nation's capital. There are so many sights to see that you'll run out of time. Then there are the countless museums; you're sure to find one that will excite your child.

To make the most of your trip, stay in a hotel that's within walking distance of everything. This will make it much easier and faster to navigate the city with the little ones.

Try to visit between March and May or September and November. This way, you can avoid the sweltering heat of the summer and the freezing winter temperatures.

3. Tokyo, Japan

If you're more of a world roamer, then why not introduce your children to a culture completely different from what they know? Visiting Japan, you'll find that it's safe, clean, and full of friendly locals who are willing to help.

You can visit year-round and still enjoy the varied landscapes. Two cities are a must-visit to really experience the culture and history of this great country.

Kyoto offers a taste of the old world with thousands of shrines and temples. Then for a taste of the more modern, visit Tokyo. The city is full of the latest technology and innovations.

4. Rome, Italy

First, there's the food. Italy's heaping plates of spaghetti and homemade sauces are sure to please even the pickiest of eaters. Then you'll experience the perfect mix of outdoor fun and history as you explore the ancient ruins of the Coliseum, Pantheon, and Trevi Fountain.
