How To Design Your Kids Bedroom With A Space Theme

Studies show that stimulating surroundings help encourage kids. And, as a result, they are more likely to be focused on what they want to pursue in their lives.

Although you may not want your child to be worried about the future at such a young age, giving them the benefit of choice still won't do any harm.

But, how do you provide that stimulus to your kid?

Well, we have an answer to it - you can design and decorate their room with a space theme.

Here's how to do it.

Decide The Design Elements

First of all, you need to decide what design elements you want to include in your kid's bedroom.

You'll be surprised to know that there are plenty of decoration items to choose from. For instance, you can get luminescent stickers, wallpapers, and even planetary models.

But, the critical decision is what things your kid would want to know more about. Meaning, you need to understand if your kid is into astronomy or planetary studies.

And, accordingly, you can decide upon the elements of the theme.

Start With A Paintjob

Once you know what elements you wish to include in your kid's bedroom, the next thing you ought to do is paint.

You'd want the paint scheme in your kid's bedroom to be playful. But, in the interim, don't ignore that you also need the color scheme to be in sync with the design elements.

For instance, if you wish to create a textured wall, make sure you choose a starry one. Or, if you wish for an accent wall, you can go for the Aurora color scheme.

Lighting Is Equally Important

Including design elements and playful paint are great jobs, but they may feel incomplete if the room lacks proper lighting.

By lighting, we not only refer to the focus or ambient lighting but also the lights that highlight features. For instance, you can make your own neon sign to mimic a constellation. Or you can even go for occasional shooting stars to enhance the effect.

The idea is to make the room as closely space-themed as possible. And for this reason, you need to include characteristic features in your kid's bedroom.

Don't Ignore The Entryway

While you are decorating the interiors, it is possible you may not pay much attention to the entryway. And this may disrupt the aura of the room.

Imagine your kid enters his room and is bombarded with all the space items. Yes, it would feel a little too instantaneous.

Instead, you can create a smooth transition for your kid to enter his space dorm. For example, you can put up a signboard at the door that says "Welcome to Space." Or you can also start decorating the hallway with a color scheme that gradually transitions the paint scheme in the rest of your house with the one in your kid's bedroom.

To sum it up...

Creating a space-themed bedroom is a lot easier than it seems. You can ask your kid what he wants and get playful with it.

In the end, it all boils down to how your kid appreciates the decor. So, involve him in the decor project and let him customize his personal space.

And, of course, don't forget to have fun while you do it.
