You’re a busy dad, you work hard and you provide for you family. Life is great, but you sometimes find yourself thinking about those years in your twenties and when and where that incredible six pack went. Not to worry. Life sometimes gets in the way, but we’ve got some tips on how to keep your physique in tip top condition, while being a super dad all at the same time.

Bonding Through Physical Activities

There’s no reason why you can’t use a bit of exercise time to bond with your child, if your schedule doesn’t allow a proper workout routine. It’s important to fit in fitness whenever the opportunity arises. Why not take your child for a football or rollerskate session in the park, or a simple walk through the woods, for some quality bonding time. The key thing is to always be on your feet and getting your heartbeat up. Walking the dog with your child is another great way to fit some exercise in without compromising on family life.

At Home Workouts

Working out from home is a good option for busy fathers on the go. Investing in an exercise bike can change your whole lifestyle. Instead of crashing on the sofa to watch tv, just jump on the bike and you’ll have done half an hour before you know it. In addition, you can even fit some exercise bars to your bedroom door frame, to squeeze in a few pull ups before leaving for work.

One thing to consider is your sports wear such as trainers / shorts and t shirts these can sometimes be quite expensive and as a father money isn’t always plentiful. It’d be a good idea to shop at somewhere like sports direct as most of their products are always in the sale.

The Super Dad Diet

You don’t have to go for a complete diet overhaul. try filling your dinner plate with healthy replacements. They can make all the difference to keeping your physique slim and trim. Replacing crisps with nuts for example, or refined sugar with sweetener. Prepare a packed lunch for work, including fruits and veg. A chicken breast sandwich is better than a greasy bacon one, and replace fizzy drinks with water. Use your child as motivation, to inspire him or her to turn out fit and healthy like their daddy. Set a good example, as kids pick up easily on bad habits - and that includes food ones.

Body Confidence

Sometimes one drink too many can lead to a beer belly, or maybe your pecs aren’t as defined as you like. That can all be changed with the right diet and some regular exercising. If your self esteem’s really taken a blow - maybe you suffer with Gynecomastia, then sites like GynoGuide could help. You could also try talking to your GP.

Sometimes there's just not enough hours in the day to really get your body where you want it. The main thing, though, is just to enjoy the little things that parenthood brings. There are so many ways to get creative with getting in shape, when children are involved. Just keeping up with their hyperactive selves is exercise enough! As long as you’re doing the best you can, and can keep up with them, then that's really all that matters.
